I just want to make a post that formally acknowledges my love and appreciation for my Jiu-Jitsu Master and friend Luiz Palhares.  Through classes, privates, seminars, training in Brasil and Florida he is responsible for my development and progress. Under his tutelage my Jiu-Jitsu has soared.  He believed enough in me to wrap the black belt around my waist.  This reality is more than I ever dreamed of.  But most important and impressive is his open mind and humble attitude.  Despite boasting one of the strongest lineages in the Jiu-Jitsu community,  he never claimed to be all-knowing.  He has continued to learn and study Jiu-Jitsu even to this day.  Each visit he introduces new concepts and positions.  He has also encouraged me to learn from others.  Dentinho in Buzios and Pinduka in Copacabana have greatly contributed to my Jiu-Jitsu.  I’m truly blessed to have the Mestre I have.  You have my eternal thanks and loyalty!  Obrigado Mestre!
