9th Grau Red Belt Deoclecio Paulo, or Grand Master Deo as he is known visited the site and left a message on  the History of Jiu-Jitsu Brasileiro page!  This was quite a surprise as I have never met or had any interaction with the famous Grand Master!  He affectionately wrote in Portugues, as I imagine he does not know English: “PREZADO AMIGO PROFESSOR JOSH GOSTEI MUITO DO SEU SITE. PARABÉNS ! UM ABRAÇO !  Translated: “Dear friend professor Josh, I like your site a lot.  Congratulations! A Hug!”  This was a surprise and huge honor to me to discover such a famous person is visiting our webiste and left a compliment!  Being a 9th Grau Grand Master is has achieved the greatest rank possible in Jiu-Jitsu.  (a 10th grau is reserved for the 5 original Gracie brothers).  He received his black belt from Oswaldo Fadda in 1958!  He started training when he was 9 years old.  So he has 70 years in the game!!

Now we are facebook friends!  lol  Of course I asked if he would like to visit our academy sometime!  He said August of 2013 he will visit the United States and would love to do a seminar and get to know my students!!
