Covid-19 Class Procedures

Monday, July 6th we will be reopening our club to group classes using the following procedures.

-When signing in, each student is indicating that he/she is symptom-free to attend class.  Common symptoms are below:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

-Anyone that has come into contact with someone COVID-19 positive will be asked to not attend class for 14 days, or until they have been demonstrated to be negative of COVID-19, by a medical professional.  Documentation of this must be provided.

-The students will work within small groups (squads) of 3-4 students.  Kids will be grouped by age.  If groups become too large we will separate further by offering early and late times. If you wish to switch training squads then you need to sit out for 14 days before coming back.  This also includes training at other facilities with other teams.

-If anyone in your squad is confirmed to be COVID-19 positive will be asked to not attend class for 14 days, or until they have been demonstrated to be negative of COVID-19, by a medical professional.  Documentation of this must be provided.

-Josh will wear a mask while teaching for the foreseeable future.  He will be interacting with all groups.

-It is recommended class participants wear a mask, although it is NOT required.

-When entering the facility, do so through the front doors.  The sign-in sheet will be in front of the dojo doors.  If there are other people on the mat from a previous class please wait until they have exited the mat.

-Exit the facility through the back door.  This is on the backside of the front end of the building opposite the entrance.  Josh will accompany kids outside.  Please pick your kids up on the sidewalk/ grass area.

-Enter and exit with your training gear if possible. Bring your own water bottle and take it with you when you leave.

-There is no wait area for parents inside the building.  Once your kids are dropped off please wait in your car. And be ready to promptly pick up your child at the exit door.

-When you enter the mat area please use the provided hand sanitizer.

-When you exit the mat area please use the provided hand sanitizer.

-Do not congregate in the facility before or after training is complete.

-Each Monday or Tuesday new students can show up to receive a training squad and begin.

-Your training squad should remain the same until further notice.  If possible, members of the same household should train together.

Mutual Welfare and Benefit for All is one of our core tenants.  The current public health and civil environments provide us with an excellent opportunity to lead by example, not only for our community, but also for the Jiu-Jitsu community at large.

During this time, please be respectful of your training partners as well as the academy staff.  If you are demonstrating any symptoms, please contact members of your squad and let Josh know ASAP.  Do not enter the facility during this time.  Everyone will understand and appreciate your honesty.  It is important to maintain a healthy student body during this time.  If we have an outbreak of cases we may be forced to shut down again.  Missing a couple weeks out of precaution is a small price to pay for ensuring the health of others.

This is a professional organization.  The positive learning environment includes health and safety.  If for whatever reason you object to the above requirements, then please wait to resume your training or seek training elsewhere.

Schedule will be modified initially and will be adjusted over time.

  1. Will you still have GI’s to use during class? I was only able to attend two classes before the shut down. Also, is it still possible to order GI’s from you?
